10/21/2014 - Racket Mural 2

The Racket wall is the latest collaboration with Daniel Bartle aka Lucid Arts

The Mural is located on 17th street in Kansas City between Locust and Cheery street. Lee from the Kultured Chameleon gallery has been working in this area for a few years, connecting artists with businesses to improve the look of the neighborhood by adding murals to large commerical buildings.. He secured the wall a while back and the owners were looking for a cohesive concept to cover the whole wall.

Lucid has been working on his KC OG series for a few years, so we thought a film noir style theme would be fun to paint as sort of homage to Kansas City’s roaring 20’s Jazz and gangster scene.

It took us about 40hrs each over 2 months this summer to complete with some help from AJ and Megan the interns, Lee for getting the lift and helping to roll the wall out grey. Plus help from Chez the assistant.

We’re predicting a lot of wedding and engagement photos might be taken in front of this piece. Haha! We’re looking forward to see where the mural image turns up.
